Geocache Description:

Easy roadside cache on Woodstock road

The cache is a pill container of 100 ml,
This is the fourth in the Velo series. These are circular trips or routes in the Rustenburg region. Designed to be done by mountain bike but can be easily reached in an average salon car; they are all roadside caches. This cache can be readily done together with Blokkloof Velo 3
From Rustenburg take the N4 west for about 37km
Velo 4 has parking at the petrol station at the hamlet of Moedwill next to the post offices boxes

Continue on the N4 to the Wysfontein turn-off to the left

This provincial dirt roads winds through the Leliekloof and was the scene of skirmishes during the Anglo-Boer war. The battle of Moedwill took place near to the Selons river on 30.9.1901, the British war graves are near the Koster river - site of future geocaches. There is wonderful birding along this route, and kudu can be seen in the thick bush. Look for colourful Nguni cattle on the farm Kareeloop. At the T- junction turn left on to the beautiful Koster road

In late summer the Amur falcon – Falco amurensis - congregates on the power lines before setting off back on its fantastic migration to eastern Asia. Giraffe, kudu, waterbuck, eland redhartbees warthog and impala can be seen along the route to your next turn-off to Woodstock after 9km

Back on good dirt road continue to your stash. En route find the Blokkloof cache.
The cache is readily exposed so please replace carefully. Enter the grounds and rest a moment and save time for some contemplation; the dirt road end after 11km at the N4 where a right turn takes you back to the parking area.
