Quel mystère se cache à Marignac Laspeyres ?
La transmission orale évoque les vestiges d’un village préexistant à celui du Marignac actuel. Il y aurait là-haut sur la colline « L’Eglezias », autrement dit, l’Eglise... ce village originel aurait été abandonné lors de la Grande Peste. Soit.
Mais alors, que sont « Les Gleizas » mentionnés par écrit dans l’histoire du village ? Un sanctuaire dédié au culte de la Vierge datant du Haut moyen-âge et aujourd’hui disparu. Soit.
Se pourrait-il que les deux histoires n’en soient qu’une ? La coïncidence linguistique me le laisse penser.
Cette géocache vous mènera sur les vestiges d’un bâtiment de taille modeste aux murs d’1 mètre d’épaisseur. Autour sous les frondaisons se cachent d’autres murs épars. Y aurait-il eu ici une chapelle et un hameau ? Le village de Marignac Laspeyres était-il à cet endroit-là ?
Ce site est insolite et méconnu des villageois eux-mêmes, il valait bien qu’une géocache le sorte de l’ombre !
Parking au Way Point N 43° 12.172 E 000° 57.191 prenez le chemin caillouteux derrière le portail métallique.
WP0 : N 43° 12.106 E 000° 57.279 prenez à gauche et montez jusqu'au Gleizas, accès direct.
Le chemin principal mène à :

What mystery is hidden in Marignac Laspeyres?
Oral transmission conjures up the remains of a village that existed prior to the current Marignac. Supposedly, on the hill, there is "The Eglezias", ie, the Church ... The original village was supposedly abandoned during the Great Plague. Very well.
But then, what are "The Gleizas” mentioned in writing in the history of the village? A shrine dedicated to the worship of the Virgin dating from the early Middle Ages and now disappeared. Very well.
Could it be that the two stories are one? The linguistic coincidence seems to suggest it.
This geocache will lead you to the remains of a building of modest size with walls 1 meter thick. All around, in the foliage, other scattered walls are hidden. Does it mean that a chapel and a hamlet existed there? Was the village of Marignac Laspeyres located on that spot?
This site is unusual and unknown to the very villagers: it was well worth a geocache to emerge from its obscurity!
