Atenção: A cache não se encontra nas coordenadas publicadas.

No processo de elaboração da GC2301Y pusemo-nos a pensar sobre as caches em Áreas de Serviço e como teria piada inundar uma Área de Serviço de caches. Então e quantas caberiam numa daquelas Áreas maiores? Foi daí que surgiu este Mistério na Auto-Estrada.

Imaginemos uma Área de Serviço perfeitamente quadrada, que ocupa uma área de 10,24 Km2. Para efeitos de simplificação das contas consideremos que a distância mínima entre duas caches é de exactamente 160m. Consideremos também que as infrastruturas da Área de Serviço não impediam a colocação da cache em nenhum ponto. Pergunta: Quantas caches seria possível colocar nesta Área de Serviço?

A resposta à pergunta é o valor X.

Para achar as coordenadas desta cache faça as seguintes contas:

A = (X / 4) – 33

B = (X * 2) – 773

As coordenadas finais são: N 38° 46.A W 009° 16.B

While working on the GC2301Y we began wondering how many caches could fit in a Highway Service Area. This is how this cache was born.

Imagine a Service Area perfectly square, which occupies an area of 10.24 Km2. To simplify the calculations let’s assume that the minimum distance between two caches is exactly 160m. Consider also that the Service Area infrastructure does not obstacle the placement of any cache.

Question: How many caches would it be possible to place on this Service Area?

The answer to the question is the value X.

To find the coordinates of this cache make the following calculations:

A = (X / 4) - 33
B = (X * 2) - 773

The final coordinates are: N 38 ° 46.A W 009 ° 16.B
