Geocache Description:

Not far from the highest point in West Virginia, is the highest cache (to date) in West Virginia.

You will have to ascend to the top of Spruce Knob (4863ft). You can hike, or you can drive. When you get to the paved parking lot, you will need to head north on the Huckleberry Trail. As you near your coordinates, you have to leave the trail and head north west just a short distance. There you will find a rockbar with a view of the mountains to the west. Also, there is a campfire ring made of these rocks and two seats with back (also of stone). Sit on one of those chairs and enjoy the view, then look across the fire ring and slightly to the right. There is a medium sized spruce tree only 12 feet away and hidden at its base is my cache. I constructed a "garage" of stones to protect the cache. Simply remove the flat stone that is in front to reach the cache container. It is in a plastic container with the red lid from the former cache on top of the new cache. Take some time to enjoy the top of this beautiful mountain. Please replace everything as you found it and do not cram giant swag into the container. Have fun!
