A micro along the river in Croton Gorge Park.
I visited this area to find 2 other caches, one on each side of the gorge park, but there was none in the park itself. "This Park is Dam(n) Gorge(ous)", I thought to myself, chuckling at my own wit. "It needs a cache". So, now it has one. Although you can't see the dam from GZ, you have to see it before you get there. Enjoy the view!
You can access the trail from the parking lot at several points. If you start near the bridge into the park, there is one spot where you will have to detour from the trail (near a service building). The detour can be a bit tricky, but not terrible. Want to avoid that? Start further up in the parking lot.
The cache is a medicine bottle, which contains a log and a pencil. Not much room for anything else. It is only about 10 feet off the trail. Please put it back as you found it.
*****During the summer season, there is a Parking Fee in Croton Gorge Park! However, you can easily access the park by foot, from the Dam or the Old Croton Aqueduct*****
