Aristotelous Square
Thessaloniki
If you want to start getting to know Thessaloniki, start here at Aristotelous Square.
It's the heart of the city, pulsating day and night.
At the front, there is the sea, on the sides beautiful architecture, and at the other end, the long pedestrian way leading up to the park and old Roman Forum.
In between all this, there is the big square itself, devoid of grass or trees, but full of activity and best of all, an hidden cache.
Aristotelous Square is one of the main squares of Thessaloniki and has become a very popular meeting place.
It's the best place to sit and watch the locals, the elderly, the businessmen, a few tourists, somehow they all end up here, for one reason or another.
Normally, the square serves as a popular spot for tourists and locals with elegant cafes lining the two sides of the area.
There are plenty of open cafes and restaurants.
Aristotelous Square is named after the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle.
This square has a wonderful view to the sea.
It's not enough just to come and walk through once.
You need to sit down on one of the benches and take it all in.
Come once in the morning, again in the afternoon, the evening, and then late at night.
Come on a Friday or Saturday night.
Come at sunset.
Enjoy it and happy caching!
