Brandys odedavna patril ke
strategicky dulezitym komunikacnim uzlum, nebot zde prekracovala
reku Labe vyznamna dalkova trasa z Prahy do Stare a Mlade Boleslavi
a zitavy. Jiz roku 1317 je v miste dolozen most,
nepochybne dreveny. Jeho podobu, ani presnou polohu nezname. Novy
most byl postaven v renesancnim obdobi italskym stavitelem
Matteem Borgorellim v letech 1568-1569 (uvedena
informace se patrne vztahuje na most pres hlavni reciste
Labe).
Roku 1600 byl most opravovan a v letech 1600-1604 byl stavitelem
Ettorem de Vaccani postaven jeste kamenny most pres
mlynske rameno pod zamkem v tesnem sousedstvi mlyna. Podobu mostu
pres hlavni reciste Labe zname diky nekolika historickym
vyobrazenim Brandysa. Z nich vyplyva, ze most pres hlavni reciste
byl prevazne drevene konstrukce. Drevene pilire, zpevnene na
navodni strane tramovymi ledolamy, nesly 8 tramovych poli. Kamenne
byly jen krajni opery. Na staroboleslavske strane na dreveny most
sikmo navazoval zdeny klenuty most inundacni, zachyceny
poprve
na Dinnebierove planu a existujici jeste ve 40.
letech 19. stoleti. Tento most mel 4-5 oblouku, snad mirne
hrotitych, pilire byly na navodni i povodni strane zpevneny brity.
Most, ktery trpel cetnymi povodnemi, byl prubezne opravovan a
upravovan, naposledy roku 1841.
Definitivne byl odstranen ve 20. letech 20. stoleti po vystaveni
noveho silnicniho mostu. Zachovaly se jen obe krajni opery, vyzdene
z velkych piskovcovych kvadru. Most pres mlynske rameno, spojujici
levy breh reky s mlynskym ostrovem, se dochoval naproti tomu v
nezmenenem stavu. Je postaven
z piskovcovych kvadru, pricemz mostovka je dlazdena. Most je
dvouobloukovy, oblouky o rozpeti asi 10 metru maji mirne stlaceny
profil. Stredni pilir je na navodni i povodni strane zesilen
britem, kridla
u krajnich oper jsou zesikmena. Parapet je plny, vyzdeny rovnez z
piskovcovych kvadru. Nad strednim pilirem stoji na navodni strane
socha sv. Jana Nepomuckeho, na povodni strane dreveny
kriz (plny parapet je uprostred prolomen mladsi barokni
balustradou).
Most pres mlynske rameno v Brandyse nad Labem patri k
nejvyznamnejsim dochovanym mostnim dilum predbelohorskeho obdobi v
cechach.

Brandys
- St. Boleslav #3 ( Old Bridge )
Brandys has long belonged to
the strategically important communication nodes, because there
beyond the river Elbe significant long distance trails between
Prague and Mlada Bolesla, Stara Boleslav and Zittau. Already in
1317 is place supported by most, undoubtedly wooden. Its style, nor
the exact location is unknown. New bridge was built in the
Renaissance period by the Italian architect Matteo Barbero
Borgorelli in 1568-1569 (listed information probably applies to the
main bridge over the Elbe river).
In 1600 the bridge was repaired and in the years 1600-1604 was by
architect Ettore de Vaccani built even stone bridge over in close
proximity to the mill. Form the main bridge over the Elbe river bed
known for several historical pictorial of Brandys. They imply that
the bridge over the main river bed was mostly wooden structures.
Final has been dropped in the 20th century after the completion of
a new road bridge. Bridge over a mill shoulder, joining the left
bank of the river with a mill island, however, has been preserved
in good condition. It is built of sandstone blocks, whereas the
bridge deck pavement. Sill is full, lined also from sandstone
blocks. Above the central pillar standing on the upstream side of
the statue of St.. John of Nepomuk on the flood side of a wooden
cross (full-sill is broken by the middle of the younger Baroque
balustrade). Bridge over a mill arm is among the most
well-preserved bridge works of the pre-period in Bohemia.
