Une cache « drive-in » à la rencontre du passé d’Auzas.
Vous trouverez cette stèle qui date du XVIIe siècle à l’entrée du village, au pied d'un grand sapin.
Elle est considérée comme la sépulture du pèlerin de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle. Vous pourrez y lire l’inscription :
« Passants, considérez touts mon affliction et voyez s’il y a douleur pareille à la mienne ».
Le « s » de « touts » est peut être une contraction du gascon « toutis », qui signifie « tous ».
Ceci indiquerait que le tailleur de pierre (payé à la lettre), a gravé cette pierre pendant la période où le gascon fut francisé.

A "park and grab" cache to meet the past of Auzas.
You can find this column dating from the seventeenth century at the village entrance, at the foot of a large fir tree. It is considered as the burial of the pilgrim of St. Jacques de Compostelle. You can read the inscription:
"Passers-by, consider all my grief and see if there is pain like mine."
The "s" of "touts" may be a contraction of the Gascony "toutis" which means "all."
This would indicate that the stonecutter (paid to the letter), carved this stone during the period when the Gascon was Frenchified.
