Geocache Description:

There’s a 350 years old sweet chestnut tree a couple of hundred metres from the church. According to the myth, Turkish troops coming from the Battle of Szentgotthárd (1664) ransacked the region. Some local women liquidated the troops then buried them. They have planted the very tree that is still an awesome piece in its decaying.
The church of Jeruzalem was built on the hill of Ormož (338 m). German crusaders returning from Jerusalem settled down in the area in the 13th century. They built a church around the copy of a Madonna picture brought with them from Jerusalem, hence the name of the settlement. The present church was built in the 17th century.
The view of the region is dominated by vineyards on the hillsides composed of parallel rows of vines, poplar lines by the roads and characteristic rattlers (klopotec).
