Geocache Description:

The Capertee Valley. Rosie's Run is down there!

To find this cache, you will need to travel to the beautiful Capertee Valley, the widest enclosed valley in the world. This valley is located adjacent to the Castlereagh Highway about 43km north-west of Lithgow. Make sure you stop at Pearsons Lookout (about 2km on the Lithgow side of Capertee village) for a wonderful panorama into this beautiful valley. (There's a traditional cache and an Earthcache there too!!)

Although this cache can be done anytime, daylight is best to appreciate the beauty of this valley. If you can manage it, try arriving in the late afternoon to fully appreciate the colours of the rocky escarpment.

Access to the cache can be obtained by driving from Capertee towards Glen Davis. After turning off the Castlereagh Highway, you will travel approx 20km (on sealed road) and cross three bridges before you turn right at the road where the“monarch could board a train”. This is an unsealed road but suitable for 2WD. Down this road you will pass over an old cattle grid and cross a concrete dip. A bit further on, the road narrows considerably. At this point you may think you are driving on private property but it is still a public road so keep going. When you are near, park the car outside and walk in to GZ. Owner's permission has been given to enter.

Check out the stash note for a lovely story about the cache name.

Just a thought.... it's probably not a good idea to drop geocoins or TBs in this cache due to the limited number of visits it gets.

When you are finished please ensure the gate is closed as there is livestock roaming the hills. One tip, in summer, bring some insect repellant!!!

Enjoy the scenery!!
