This cache has been archived.

Zero Gravitas: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

An urban pedestrian friendly area. For geocachers, it can be a very active muggle area hence the difficulty rating, but hopefully the cache is in an area where you can access it without looking too conspicuous and then relax to watch the world go by.

New Regent Street was opened in April 1931. A development company built the new street complete with shop buildings on 40 separate titles, one of the few large scale projects in South Island during the Depression. The Spanish Mission style of the street was not often used in Christchurch at that time, and a whole street in that style is unique to New Zealand.

The street was converted to a pedestrian mall in 1994. Have a stroll along the street of eateries and specialty boutique shops, absorb a quiet quaint part of the city - until the historic glam trams clatters through. Enjoy your stay.

Cache
17 May 2010: The original bottle has been upsized from 90mL to 200mL bottle with its camouflage coat. It contains a log book but you must bring your own pen to sign the log book. You do not need to go over the fence, nor go on the busy road to retrieve it.
