Part of a series along the A590 - see bookmark list. This cache takes you to a wonderful riverside location, away from the pulsing artery of the main road, but it's just a few steps away. Beautiful trees, flowing water and a handy parking spot. Cache is a regular L&L. The layby is definitely best approached while traveling towards Kendal. If you are Barrow bound, then do a turn in the junction to the south of the cache.
The long straight section past Backbarrow ends in a sweeping curve before another length of dual-carriageway. Directly on the bend is a small layby. Park here, follow briefly alongside the 'guard rail' and down the path with large steps to the waterside - good swimming for geohounds when not in flood! Humans - take care not to fall in!
Hope you enjoy a fun stop on the busy five-ninety.
