Geocache Description:

A city centre nano close to some Roman History and a decent pint of bitter, you'll need a pen to sign the log.

This cache is a nano that is in or around the Roman Gardens found just outside the City Walls. The gardens have been recreated in more recent times from masonry recovered from the original Roman barracks site within the walls. There is also an excellent example of the damage done to the city walls by cannon fire during the middle ages. Just around the corner is the Roman Ampitheatre and opposite the side gate of the gardens is The Albion Pub.
Step back in time for a fantastic pint of bitter and some really good pub grub but BE WARNED, although dogs are allowed in, children are not. Another good nearby grub pub which does welcome children is the Bear and Billet just around the corner at the bottom of Lower Bridge Street.

The gates to the Roman Gardens are locked at sunset and the cache can still be accessed without entering.

February 2014; have just re-enabled the cache after some long term contruction work that has finally been completed. The old location of the cache was in the ceiling of the gate but as you will see this isn't really a possibility any more. Good luck with FTF at the new location wiht new clue
