Congratulations to Chriswill for First-To-Find!!

The History of Guard Rail Fun Caches

In the fall of 2009, I made my first trip to Washington, D.C. and the northeast states. My trip coincided with some of the worst rain and coastal flooding they had experienced all year. I was anxious to get at least two caches in each state as I completed more states on my visited states map. Let me tell you, I was desperate to find some easy park & grab caches so I didn't get drowned in the rainstorms. As I hunted for an easy 1.5/1.5 park and grab, I decided I would create a series of really easy guard rail caches for folks that were in my neighborhood and needed a quick park and grab.

Requirements to be a Guard Rail Fun Cache

The Guard Rail Fun caches should be quick and easy; they should have excellent coords, convenient nearby parking and should usually be around the end of the guard rail if possible. Most of my GRFs have an accuracy of seven feet or less. They are usually micros but might be a little bigger. Oh yeah, and they are all on or in a guard rail.

Where to find Guard Rail Fun Caches

When I began the Guard Rail Fun cache series, I started with over twenty GRF caches of my own. Friends and fellow cachers wanted to get in on the fun and began placing GRF caches of their own. As a reward for their efforts, I sent everyone that created six GRF caches a beautiful GRF Pathtag. I will also send a GRF pathtag to anyone that creates a GRF cache in a state or country where there isn't one already.
