In case you were wondering... The picture was taken of the ossuary at the Monastery of the Great Meteoron in Meteores, Greece. Meteores translates from the Greek literally meaning "suspended between heaven and earth" as the rocks appear to be 'suspended' in the air. The skulls all belong to former residents of the monastery, the best explanation I can find is that the bones dug up a few years after burial and stored in order to conserve the limited space.
