Viensuu on Lieksan vanhimpia asuinpaikkoja. Viensuunjoen maisema on pohjoiskarjalaista maaseutumaisemaa parhaimmillaan. Kätköpaikan läheisillä pelloilla oli vielä muutama vuosi sitten kyyttökarjaa. Maisemaa on pyritty pitämään alkuperäisessä tilassa luonnonmenetelmällä - lampaita on ollut niityillä harvennustöissä.
Viensuu is one of the oldest inhabited places in Lieksa. The scenery at Viensuu River is North Carelian countryside as its classic form. The fields nearby were occupied by original finnish cow spieces "kyyttö" until recently. The scenery has been tried to be kept on its original form with the help of sheep.
