A tribute to the girls and boys I work with each morning; Bricker, Royal, Vitro and Rocket.
Every morning for the last few months, I have gotten up before dawn and gone to work at the Paris race track, located at the Paris fairgrounds. Come by between 7 and 9 every morning and you will find many of us dedicated horse owners (or, in my case, the hired help) exercising some of the finest standardbreds in the area. Some, like Royal, have a real drive to win. Others, like Rocket, are just coming back from a long, tough injury. And, there are those who are just pets, like my "little" Bricker and Vitro.
Located not too far from the race track, this cache was placed one morning after my chores were completed and Bricker and I decided to go for a wander to get some grass and stretch our legs (it's a tough life living in a safe stall, being fed food every 2 hours, all day every day). Across the street you'll find a small, field area that no one seems to really own, but is used for extra parking during the Paris Fair, Labour Day Weekends. The cache itself is a regular sized tupperware style container (actually from Chinese takeout) and contains a number of horsey items - Sires' Stakes keychain, toy horses and fencing, pins, a bridle charm, horsey bumper sticker, horse pen, etc. As I was trying to handle a horse and place a cache at the same time as I was placing it, it may not be perfect, but it's been averaged a few times for accuracy. Watch out for the horse tracks and come say hi if you notice a white VW beetle in the parking lot across from the cache.
PLEASE STICK TO THE THEME (horse) or TBs... trade even, trade up, or don't trade at all. Cache includes a couple of pens but you'll want to BYOP in the winter in case they freeze. The horse pen is a trade item, so please feel free tio take it. Should be winter friendly.
