Congratulations to Shawn on the overdue recognition of his
achieving 1,000 finds!
(Please include
reminiscences of caching adventures with Shawn, or mention your
favorite Speedy hide in your log
entry.)
I met Speedysk1 (Shawn) at my first
WNC. Shawn hosted the event to hunt my first hides near Rice Marsh
Lake. All I remember is he had a cool headlamp and he was the first
to find the tricky stage #1 of my Bug Circle Multi. Several months
later Shawn joined our team to MOGA in the spring of 2009 and that
is when we really got to know each other. We had a blast on that
trip. The first day we logged over 100 caches and Shawn was a big
reason why, with his uncanny knack for finding Nanos. We gave him a
special name for his Nano finding skills, but some things that
happen on the road need to stay the road. (;-) Shawn rarely misses
a WNC and he has logged almost 30 event caches. He served on the
MNGCA board last year. As a result of all these social activities
I’m sure Speedy is one of the best known cachers in the state. I
have learned a lot from Speedy! He is someone who gives back and is
always willing to help a Newbie learn how to
Geocache.
