Att Kumla är känt för skotillverkning vet många men att Kumla också har en radiotradition vet inte lika många. När skoindustrin kom i kris på 60-talet sökte man ersättningsindustri och lyckades locka Svenska Radioaktiebolaget, SRA, till Kumla. I en gammal skofabrik tillverkades radio och TV av det gamla fina märket Radiola. Senare gick tillverkningen över till kommunikationsradio och en ny stor radiofabrik byggdes intill riksvägen och namnet ändrades från SRA till Ericsson. Many people know that Kumla is known for shoe manufacturing but few people know that Kumla also has a radio tradition. When the shoe industry was in crisis in the 60s Kumla was looking for replacement industry and managed to attract Swedish Radio Company, SRA, to Kumla. In an old shoe factory they produced radio and television of the fine old brand Radiola. Later SRA went on to manufacture 2-way radios and a new large radio factory was built next to the trunk road and the name was changed from SRA to Ericsson.
