La Fromagerie des Rousses
La fromagerie ou fruitière à Comté, artisanat typique du Haut Jura au même titre que la boisellerie ou la fabrication des tavaillons, est installée non loin du centre du village.
Malgré son architecture défigurée par l'adjonction d'un restaurant, il est intéressant de visiter la salle musée, réservée aux explications sur le procédé de fabrication de ce fameux fromage qu'est le Comté. Avec un peu de chance, vous pourrez voir les fromagers en action au travers d'une grande vitre prévue à cet effet.
L'accès à cette salle est libre mais les horaires d'ouverture sont ceux du magasin de vente attenant.
La cache est située tout près de la fromagerie dans un endroit plus discret.
The "Fromagerie" or "fruitière à Comté" is a typical craft industry of the "Haut-Jura" area, as well as "boisellerie" or "tavaillons" manufacturing. This fromagerie is installed not far from the centre of the village.
Despite its architecture disfigured by the adjonction of a restaurant, it's worth a visit to a special room inside the premise where you will find all explanations regarding the process of Comté manufacturing and if you are a bit lucky, you will see cheesemakers working throught a large window.
Access to this room is free.
The cache is located not far from the fromagerie, in a discreet spot.
