A really tranquil spot by a newly installed
bridge on the River Meese. The cache is a simple Traditional cache
hidden in a great spot in some lovely countryside near home.
We had wanted to hide a cache here when we set
our other Meesechievous caches but the old bridge had collapsed and
the area was looking a bit worse for wear. They have done a lot of
work on the area as part of putting in the new bridge and it's
looking really nice now.
Although you could walk to the cache along the
Public Footpath from the north, it's over a ploughed field and
quite hard going. We recommend coming in to the cache from the
south, along the Public Footpath that goes round the back of Meeson
Hall and then over the field to the bridge. It's much easier going
and a really nice walk with lots to see on the way. The path is
well waymarked so you won't get lost as you go round the back of
the old house.
As it's so close to the house and farm
buildings, we'd obviously ask that you don't go looking for the
cache in the dark. If you have to do it in the dark, come down the
Public Footpath from the north as this does not go near any houses.
Can we also ask that you do not park in the entrance to the Public
Footpath to the south as the track is in use all the time.
The cache is a regular sized lock n lock box
hidden in a camo bag. We wanted to put the cache under the new
bridge but it looks like children play there from time to time so
we've hidden it just out of sight of people on the bridge
instead.
