Ruila Ukukivi located in the Muusika village is the largest sacrificial stone in Estonia. Circumference of the boulder is 35,1 meters (some sources say it is 34,5 meters) and the stone is 5,7 meters high. These characteristics place the stone into the top 30 of the largest boulders in Estonia.
Also the depression on Ruila Ukukivi is the largest in Estonia – diameter 50 centimeters, depth 25 centimeters.
There are lots of legends about this boulder, most of which have something to do with Kalevipoeg (Estonian epic hero) or the Devil. According to one of the stories the Devil used to butcher sheep on the stone and then cook them in the cauldron – so the depression is made by the cauldron.
The boulder lies on the private territory, mostly inside the fence. But you don’t have to go inside to take a look at the boulder or to find the cache – go around the fence (there are signs on the track). The landlord is aware of the cache, just behave politely.
The hiding place is above the ground level.
