Geocache Description:

The coordinates given are for a small car park fronting a playground on the edge of the village of Stretton On Dunsmore. Beyond the village to the east, the land is arable, with very little in the way of woodland. This is Dunsmore Heath, which until the 18th century was indeed heathland, covered with species such as heather and gorse. It is thought that this is one of earliest areas in Warwickshire to be have been cleared of trees.

On to the cache. This is an offset multi-cache, with a short walk along public footpaths, and stiles to cross.

To start, find a source of information in the car park (not hard) and answer the following:

Robert ? – how many letters in his surname? A

In memory of his wife, ... How many letters in her name? B

Opened CD/05/19EF

Erected 19GH

Onwards to find the cache at N 52 21.(G-H)B(D+F) W 001 23.(C+E)(A-B)(C+F).

If you chose to continue on walk 9, then please note that the path eventually crosses the busy A45. Take great care.

This is another in a series of caches created by ‘A Coventry Way Association’. The association was formed to promote a long distance footpath, A Coventry Way, and to support local authorities in the path’s maintenance. Our primary aim was to encourage people to discover and use the local countryside. A book of 21 Circular Walks was produced, broadly based on the main walk. Our plan is to set out a series of caches, located on or near each of the 21 walks. See (visit link) for further information.

The cache is smaller than a 35mm film canister, containing just a log - bring something to write with. It is located somewhere on walk 9 and can be done in conjunction with Avonside Walk 9 cache (GCV2HD), More Dunsmore Walk 9 (GC24E0X) and City View Walk 8 (GC24DZ2).
