Red-winged Blackbirds fly south in large flocks each winter. They
return just in time for spring when the radiant red wings of the
male shine most spectacularly against their black coating. The
Red-winged Blackbird likes to eat grain and perch on branches and
tree tops, gurgling its soft, throaty "con-ka-ree." It can
sometimes be found in marshlands.
