The White-breasted Nuthatch is black-capped and has beady black
eyes. It stores acorns and other nuts in the nooks and crannies of
tree bark. Often called a "tree mouse," this blue-winged bird is
famous for hanging upside down from branches and scurrying down
trees head first. Unlike most birds, the White-breasted Nuthatch
does not fly south in the winter.
