Slēpņa apraksts:
Slepnis NEATRODAS iekšā alā, bet gan pie ieejas lielākajā no alām (labajā pusē), tas nav nekur aprakts vai iebāzts (tāpēc nevajag nekur rakties un bojāt alas sienas), tas vienkārši tur stāv - pacel to, atver un ieraksties viesu grāmatā. Slēpnis ir nestandarta konteineris, kurā iekšā atrodas tikai viesu grāmata, tāpēc neaizmirstiet paņemt līdzi savu rakstāmo.

Vietas apraksts:
Zanderu dolomīta alas (mēdz dēvēt arī par Stalaktītu alām) atrodas Cēsu rajonā, Līgatnes pagastā. Dolomītos izveidojušās 3 alas.
Lielākās alas garums ir 10 m, laukums - 50 kv.m, augstums pie ieejas - 0.7 m, vidū - 1.7 m. Vidējās alas garums - 6.5 m, laukums - 44 kv.m, augstums pie ieejas - 0.6 m. Mazākās alas garums - 4 m. Alu griestos ir dažus centimetrus gari stalaktīti. Alas noteiktas kā ziemojošo sikspārņu monitoringa stacija. Trīs alas kopā ir iekļautas liegumā ar platību 1.5 ha (MK Noteikumi Nr.175, 2001.gads).
Piekļūšana:
Pa A2/E77 šoseju jābrauc lidz Augšlīgatnei, tad jānogriežas pa kreisi virziena uz Līgatni un jabrauc līdz autobusa pieturai "Zanderi", tad jaunekle, kur atstāt savu auto, jo tālāk ir jāiet ar kājām. Lai tiktu pie alām ir jāšķērso lauks, kas ir privātīpašums, taču nav pamata uztraukumam, jo saimnieks ir informēts par slēpni un, ja Jūs uzvedīsieties godīgi, tad problēmām nevajadzētu būt.
P.S. GPS koordinātes varētu būt nedaudz neprecīzas reljefa un koku dēļ.
BRĪDINĀJUMS!!!
1) Lai nokļūtu līdz alām ir jāšķērso privātīpašums (saimnieks ir informēts par slēpni). Lūdzu atstājiet savu auto brīvi izvēlētā vietā tā, lai tas netraucētu citiem satiksmes dalībniekiem, un tālāk dodieties ar kājām. Nekādā gadījumā nemēģiniet piekļūt tuvāk alām, šķērsojot lauku ar savu auto, tas ir kategoriski aizliegts! Izmantojiet piedāvāto sakuma punktu un sāciet savu pastaigu no turienes, tādā veidā netiks traucēti tuvumā esošās mājas iemītnieki.
2) Alas Latvijā ir aizsargājamas kā:
- ģeoloģiski objekti;
- zooloģiski un botāniski minirezervāti;
- arheoloģiski pieminekļi;
- vēstures pieminekļi.
Zanderu alas ir iekļautas liegumā ar platību 1.5 ha (MK Noteikumi Nr.175, 2001.gads).
Tāpēc apmeklējot alas:
- nekurināsim tajās ugunskurus;
- apgaismojumam lietosim tikai elektriskos lukturīšus;
- uz alu sienam neskrāpēsim uzrakstus un arī citādi tās nebojāsim;
- netraucēsim ziemā guļošos sikspārņus;
- neklaigāsim un netrokšņosim alā;
- pēc ieturētas maltītes neatstāsim alā un ārā pie alas drazas.

The cache:
The cache is NOT located inside of the cave but next to the entrance to the largest cave (right side), it is not buried or stuffed anywhere (therefore no need to dig around or to damage walls of the cave), it is just laying there; pick it up, open it and sign the logbook. The cache is not a standard container; it contains only logbook therefore don't forget to bring your own pen.

The place:
Zanderu dolomite caves (also called Stalactite caves) are located in district of Cesis, Ligatnes parish. There are 3 caves formed in a dolomite.
The length of the largest cave is 10 m, area - 50 sq.m, height at the entrance - 0.7 m, in the middle of the cave - 1.7 m. The length of the middle-size cave is 6.5 m, area - 44 sq.m, height at the entrance - 0.6 m. The length of the smallest cave is 4 m. In the ceiling of the caves there are stalactites several centimetres long. These caves are stated as a monitoring station of hibernating bats. Three caves are included into a reserve with total area of 1.5 ha (Regulations of Cabinet of Ministers No.175, year 2001).
The access:
Use A2/E77 road till Augsligatne, then turn left to Ligatne and drive till you see a bus stop "Zanderi", then look for a place to leave your car, because the rest of the way you will need to walk. In order to get to the caves you will have to cross a field that is private property, but there is nothing to worried about because the owner is informed about the cache and there should be no problems as long as you behave.
P.S. GPS coordinates might be imprecise due to relief and trees.
WARNING!!!
1) In order to get to the caves you will have to pass trough a private property. Leave your car on the side of the road and walk the rest of the way. Do not try to get closer to the the cave by driving your car into the field, that is strictly forbidden! Use the Waypoint for approximate location from which you can start walking, that way you will not have to disturb the owner on the nearby house.
2) The caves in Latvia are protected as:
- geographical objects;
- zoological and botanic mini-reservations;
- archaeological memorials;
- historical memorials.
Zanderu caves are included into a reserve with total area of 1.5 ha (Regulations of Cabinet of Ministers No.175, year 2001).
Therefore when visiting the caves:
- do not burn fire inside of the cave;
- use only electric flashlights;
- do not damage the walls of the cave (do not scratch any inscriptions on the walls);
- do not disturb sleeping bats during the winter;
- do not yell or make loud noises inside the cave;
- after a meal do not leave any garbage laying around (inside or outside of the cave).
