This is a "NIGHT" Cache. The posted co-ordinates is NOT the cache location. The co-ordinates are for the start of the trail going into the cache hide.
We decided to try our luck at placing a night cache and found a neat little trail in the Tracyville area.
From the posted co-ordinates, use a high powered flashlight and look for a reflective tack/marker in the trees. From here you should be able to shine your light around and locate the next marker along the trail. Continue following these markers until you eventually come to a tree that has 2 reflective markers on it. This is where you will find the cache.
The hike will mostly keep you on a trail but will end with a short walk into the woods as you get closer to the actual cache. The cache container is an Ammo can filled with some traders and a logbook.
The reflective tacks are spaced at an average of 25 metres apart.
There are also reflective tacks to follow out of the woods to get you back out to the trail so you don't get disoriented.
Some words of caution for this cache.
(1) Please make sure you bring a strong enough flashlight. A krypton or halogen light will create a better beam then an LED style or a cheap dollar store flashlight. Extras batteries may be useful to bring along also.
(2) Be advised that cell phone coverage is poor in this area.
(3) You should not attempt this cache alone for safety reasons.
(4) Keep the Trail start co-ordinates in your GPS until you are out of the woods. They may be needed to find your way back to your vehicle.
(5) There are a couple of good wide parking areas alongside the main road (Route 101) where you can safely leave your vehicle. Near the rural mailboxes should be the best place to park.
