Un oppidum très riche . . .
Gondole est, des 4 grands oppida de la région Auvergne, le plus méconnu, mais un des plus riches archéologiquement. C'est à la découverte d'une sépulture, il y a quelques années, comportant 6 cavaliers enterrés avec leurs chevaux, que le grand public comprit l'importance de ce site si actif dès l'âge du fer. Les fouilles révélèrent une cité structurée, avec ses commerces, ses remparts, sa vie passée. Vous ferez donc appel à vos cartes pour vous diriger vers cet endroit qui n'est pas spectaculaire en soi, mais peut avoir été le site de résistances gauloises envers l'envahisseur romain; Il vous faudra une carte, peut-être des recherches sur Google Earth ou Géoportail, pour trouver cette GC.

Gondole is one of the mains 4 oppida of Auvergne , most overlooked, but one of the most archaeologically rich. It is bythe discovery of a burial, a few years ago, with 6 riders buried with their horses, that the public understood the importance of this site so active since the Iron Age. The excavations revealed a city structured, with its shops, its ramparts, its past life.
