This is an old small family cemetery located along Hwy 82 in Pickens County just west of the small town of Coal Fire. My Great-Great Grandmother and Great-Great Grandfather and some of their children are buried here. This cemetery was first started in 1865 and was located along Hwy 82 on family land until the highway was increased to four lanes in the 1980s. Ths State of Alabama moved the cemetery up on the hill to it's present location. Very few people even know that the cemetery is here anymore. There is a concrete rain ramp that paralles the hwy 200 ft. North of the West bound lanes on a plateau. At N 33D 24.326', W088D 05.909' there is another concrete rain ramp/walkway that goes North up the hill to the cemetery. The coords at the cache were to within 7ft. Please put the cover back on the cache securely after signing the log and replace in such a way that rain water does not get in the container (tilt slightly). Please also be respectful of the grave sites.
