Geocache Description:

This is a relatively easy stroll, mostly on paved paths, and really good for the faithful geohound to accompany you (okay, okay, or the kids!) It is a little over a 3.5km round trip, nothing too strenuous. You will, however, take in some good views and environs. Huxley and I walk around here most every morning, although home is 2 kms from the starting point!

Consider the map as you read the directions for this cache. Follow the directions, answer a few questions along the way, and you will find the cache at S35 09.ABC, E149 08.DEF

At the starting coordinates, listed above, you will find a sign that offers details about the Early Settlers in North Canberra. Follow the directions and/or the map shown below, collect the information and find the cache!

Directions
Keep your eyes out for signs that are of the same ilk as the one at the starting coordinates. Read them all to make sure you have the answers to the 4 sign questions given below. Several of these signs along this caching route. There are a few road crossings (not too many) so be careful with geokids and geohounds alike.

From the starting coordinates, travel southwest along the path, until you reach the "Aboriginal Trading Paths" sign at S35 10.072, E149 08.615.

Here turn left, wending past the basketball court and the dog park (where water and fun is available for your 4 legged friend), heading for a light post at the top of the one way street, at S35 10.098, E149 08.745. Note the 6 digits on this pole, about half way up.

If you head towards S35 10.156, E149 08.760 you will have the best views in the district, particularly at sunrise. Continue along the wiggly path and over the bridge to S35 10.357, E149 08.774 where you must turn right onto the path that hugs the water. You are now continuing SW to S35 10.497, E149 08.579 where you will see a footbridge on your right. Cross over this and turn left, taking this path until its end at the main junction - S35 10.489, E149 08.423 (ie: don't go up the squiggly cement path). Turn right and you will see another of the signs. Keep going up this main path, past a few more inFore!mative signs (watch out for one of them that is on your right, about 5m off the main path), and then go over the traffic lights (cross twice to get on the opposite side) intersection to set your sights on a return to the "Aboriginal Trading Paths" sign at S35 10.072, E149 08.615. Here you are ready to put your final coordinates into your GPS
