Geocache Description:

This cache is a small micro and is not placed in the churchwall.

Sædinge Chuch was build approximately the year 1250 of red large medieval bricks with a lot of Barholes . the chuch consists of a norman style choir and nave. The tower facing west is build in gothic style. The norman plinth is renowated.
The chuch is in the north eastern part of the small village, and is held free buildings towards the north and east. The chuch is withdrawn from the built up area along the main street. The church is placed slightly higher in the landscape than the surrounding village. The nearest house interact fine with the nearest houses and the chuch has a dominant position. From the western end of the village the chuch is hardly visible but from the south and east it is very visible. From the churchyard there is not a pronounced visual connection to the village but there is a quite good view of the eastern and northern countryside.
The church was formerly known as the church at the beach because the fjord used to go all the way up to the church. There are quite a lot of frescoes from the period 1300-1480.
At the church choir closer to the dike there used to be a spring. On the churchyard there used to be markets until the year 1636, therefore a lot of the graves have iron fences around them, to keep animals away.
