Francais Abbatiale Saint Pierre. Cette remarquable abbatiale romane, classée monument historique en 1840, fût bâtie par des moines de l'ordre bénédictin au 11e siècle. Fortifiée durant la guerre de cent ans, on peut noter la présence d'une tour imposante perçée de meurtrières, seul vestige de l'ensemble de défense de la cité d'autrefois. Elle possède un clocher de style limousin, à 3 étages carrés supportant un dernier étage octogonal.
Mais on ne manquera surtout pas d'admirer sa remarquable crypte, en forme de rotonde à trois absidioles. En effet, celle-ci est considérée comme la plus ancienne et unique de la région. Datant du 11ème siècle, sa salle centrale communique avec le déambulatoire.
On y a trouvé un sarcophage qui abritait les reliques de deux évêques bretons : saint Léon et de saint Coronat, vénérées par les pèlerins de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle.

English St.Peter’s Abbey This remarkable roman abbey, classified in 1840 as a monument, was built by the monks of the Benedictine order in the 11th century. Fortified during the Hundred Years War, one can note the presence of an imposing tower with loopholes, the only vestige of the entire defense of the city of those days. It has a Limousin tower-style, 3 square stages bearing an octagonal top floor.
But what you most certainly must not miss is its remarkable crypt, shaped round three apsidioles. Indeed, it is considered the oldest and unique in the region. Dating from the 11th century, its central hall communicates with the ambulatory.
They found a shelter that housed the relics of two Brittany bishops: St. Leon and St. Coronat. They are revered by pilgrims of Saint Jacques de Compostela.

The cache : Enter the crypt. When they work, put on the lamps, if not, use your torch. 9 steps ahead, through the arc, 9 steps to the right.

Nederlands St.Peters abdij Deze opmerkelijke Romaanse abdijkerk, in 1840 een historisch monument geworden, werd door monniken van de orde der benedictijnen gebouwd in de 11e eeuw. In de honderdjarige oorlog is de kerk versterkt met een indrukwekkende omloop waarvan de schietgaten nog te zien zijn. Het was het enige versterkte gebouw van de stad.
heeft een klokkentoren in de stijl van de Limousin, met 3 vierkante verdiepingen die een laatste achthoekige verdieping dragen.
Wat u vooral niet moet missen is de opmerkelijke crypte onder de kerk, in de vorm van rond gebouw aan drie koorkapellen. De crypte wordt als het oudst en enige van het gebied beschouwd. De crypte dateert uit de 11e eeuw en heeft een centrale zaal met omgang. Men heeft er een sarcofaag gevonden die de relieken bevatte van twee Bretonse bisschoppen: de heilige Léon en heilige Coronat, die door de pelgrims van Saint-Jacques van Compostelle worden vereerd.
