A MED SIZED PLASTIC CONTAINER
I love this walk and have camped here several times. In the evening and early morning there is a lot of wildlife and the river views.
Molonglo Gorge
Outside Queanbeyan via Yass and Sutton Roads, turning off at Kowen Road (a 10 minute or so drive).
(3 km trail, easy to moderate difficulty, 1 hour each way)
Start at the Molonglo Picnic Area (toilets, free electric BBQ’s and children’s play ground) –The walk starts off following the gently flowing Molonglo River, and quickly ascends high above the river with spectacular views, the track is well maintained with handrails in places. After an hour or so you’re at the Blue Tile Picnic Area, a small grassy area with BBQs and picnic tables, a great place for a family picnic. There is no drinking water available at Blue Tiles so make sure that you have sufficient, it is advised not to drink the water from the river as it still has a high mineral content from the old mining days up-river. There are no bins either so make sure you take your rubbish with you.
