How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

You will not find the cache at the page coordinates. To determine the actual cache coordinates, you MUST complete all 62 caches that have been placed for The Great Northern Tier Geocaching and Letterboxing Tournament 2009.

The posted difficulty / terrain rating is for this cache only. The actual difficulty is somewhat higher and it will require a certain amount of determination to get the smiley and bragging rights for this cache.

The rules are simple: Visit each cache listed and record the coordinate offsets that you will find inside the cover of the cache box or on the cover of the log sheet, in the case of a micro. We will start you off with the first ones..... N42 00.000, W071 00.000. Simply add all the collected offsets together. You will have the actual coordinates for the Mother Lode when you have completed the list. Then go out and sign the logbook. Quite simple, really!

If any caches are archived before this cache, the offsets of the archived cache will be included here as well.

Note: Vision and steady hand constraints may make it more desirable to have a spreadsheet to maintain the offsets. Feel free to contact us for a copy.

Now go out there and find those caches and start collecting those offsets. Keep in mind, we want you to have fun, but be safe!
