Der Elfenstein
Von Bad Harzburg aus am Wildpark vorbei und immer den Berg hoch, kommt man zum Elfenstein, wo man einen guten Blick auf das Harzvorland hat.
Der Elfenstein ist ein aufgeschlossener Quarzgang und besteht aus Elfenstein Quarzit.
Der Quarzgang wird in das Gefolge des Okergranit gestellt, das heißt er dürfte spätoberkarbonischen Alters sein. Um so bemerkenswerter ist sein Verlauf, der auf rund 3 km parallel zur Harzrandstörung streicht und so die Existenz dieser tektonischen Richtung schon im Spätvaristikum beweist. Der Nordharzrand ist also an einer sehr alten Störung angelegt.
Unterhalb des Elfenstein gibt es noch das Harzburger Fenster, wo man auch einen schönen Blick auf die Stadt hat.
Stellt euch auf den Aussichtspunkt oder vor den Elfenstein und macht optional ein Foto von euch mit eurem GPS in der Hand und dem Elfenstein im Hintergrund (siehe Spoiler) und beantwortet mir diese drei Fragen.
1. Vor dem Elfenstein steht eine Stempelstelle der Harzer Wandernadel Nr.120.
Wenn ihr den Deckel öffnet steht dort eine dreistellige Zahl. Nennt mir diese.
2. Woraus besteht der Elfenstein?
3. Stellt euch auf den Elfenstein und sagt mir wie hoch ihr steht (Höhe des GPS).
Sendet mir die Antworten per E-Mail und ihr dürft logen. sollte etwas falsch sein werde ich mich melden.

The Elvesstone
Coming from Bad Harzburg by the wild park an than the mountain up you are coming to the Elvesstone, where you have an good look over the Harz foreland.
The Elvesstein is an exposed quartzgear and is composed of Elvesstone quarzite.
The quarzgear will put into the retinue of the Okergranite, it knows, it will be late upperkarbonischen ages.
About so remarkable is his course, who will be parallel of the Harz edge disturbance at 3 kilometers. And so he proves the existence of this tectonic direction at the late varistikum. So the North Harz is invested at an old disturbance.
Below the Elvesstone it gives the Harzburger window, where you´ve got an excellent sight at Bad Harzburg.
Stay at the viewpoint or befor the Elvesstone and an make a picture of you, your GPS and the Elvesstone in the background (show Spoiler).
