Wooded hilltop overlooking the city of Sheridan; cache is a
waterproof, sandwich-sized container.
This cache is located on the grounds of the Trail End State
Historic Site in Sheridan, Wyoming. When I was in High School - now
the near by Junior High School, the grounds were a favorite
loacation for budding photographers. While the cache is outside,
you would enjoy visiting the historic site itself (two treasures in
one!). Cache is hidden with the permission of the site
superintendent. The historic house museum is open 9 am to 6 pm
daily in the summer (1-4 daily winter), Trail End is a
fully-furnished example of Flemish Revival architecture - the only
one in the region. Entrance fee is $4 for adults; 17 and under no
charge. See more at www.trailend.org. Fully furnished, the Trail
End mansion presents an elegantly different aspect of Wyoming's
rich ranching heritage. With 3.8 acres of lawn, gardens, pathways
and orchards, the grounds themselves were the first professionally
landscaped private grounds in the State of Wyoming. Planted in
1914, many of the original trees, shrubs and flowers remain to this
day. The Carriage House Theater is also on the grounds. Located in
the 1910 "garage," the 88-seat theater is home to the Sheridan
Civic Theater Guild, which presents four or more plays a year.
Great seats! Find out more at www.civictheaterguild.org.
