Pomník obětem fašismu
Silver A, Radiotelegrafista Jiří Potůček a rodina Burdychových
Radiotelegrafista paraskupiny SILVER A svobodník Jiří Potůček, krycím jménem Tolar (nar. 12.7.1919 v Brunecku) byl vysazen spolu s dalšími šesti parašutisty skupin ANTROPOID, SILVER A, a SILVER B na Němci okupované území ČSR v noci z 28. na 29.12.1941. Skupina měla navázat a udržovat rádiové spojení s Vojenskou rádiovou ústřednou na území Británie a vybudovat zpravodajskou síť. Potůčkova radiostanice LIBUŠE (MARK III) byla v roce 1942 jediná, která byla trvale ve spojení s vedením zahraničního odboje ve Velké Británii. Do 26. června 1942 vyslal Potůček 578 depeší a 516 jich přijal. Se stanicí LIBUŠE pracoval z Ležáků, Bohdanče, z Pardubic a Měnic. Potom se skrýval na Bohdašíně a jeho poslední úkryt byl 30.6.1942 u Burdychů na Končinách u Červeného Kostelce.

Když tam 30.6.1942 odpoledne vtrhli gestapáci, došlo mezi nimi a Potůčkem k přestřelce. Antonína Burdycha ml., který se pokusil o útěk, gestapáci zastřelili, jeho otec utrpěl zranění v přestřelce. Potůčkovi se podařilo uprchnout (v košili, kalhotách a bos) směrem k Zábrodí. V Burdychově stavení našli gestapáci Potůčkovu stanici. Obyvatelé stavení byli zatčeni. Potůček zahynul 1. července 1942 na Pardubicku, kde ho zastřelil český četnický strážmistr Půlpán. Burdychovi byli 9. července spolu s dalšími spolupracovníky skupiny Silver A popraveni v Pardubicích.
Na pomníku je i jméno František Jiroušek. O něm jsem nic nezjistil a nápis na jeho pomníku je nečitelný.

Silver A, Radiotelegraph operator Jiří Potůček and the Burdych family
Radiotelegraph operator of the paratroop squad SILVER A, lance corporal Jiří Potůček, with alias Tolar (born 12.07.1919 in Bruneck) was dropped together with six other paratroopers of squads ANTROPOID, SILVER A, and SILVER B at the German-occupied ČSR (Czechoslovakian Republic) territory during night between 28. and 29.12.1941. The squad was supposed to establish radio connection with the radio central at the British territory and build an intelligence network. Potůček's radiostation LIBUŠE (MARK III) was the only station with active connection to resistance headquarters in Great Britain in 1942. Before 26.06.1942 Potůček had sent 578 and received 516 dispatches. He operated the radiostation in Ležáky, Bohdaneč, Pardubice and Měnice. After that he was hiding in Bohdašín and his last hideout was on 30.06.1942 at the house of Burdych family in Končiny near Červený Kostelec.

When the gestapo officers came there in the aternoon of 30.6.1942, a gunfight took place. Antonína Burdych jr., who tried to escape, was shot by gestapo, his father was wounded. Potůček managed to escape (with a shirt, trousers and without any shoes) towards Zábrodí. Potůček's radiostation was found by gestapo in Burdych's house. Residents of the house were arrested. Potůček died on 1st of July 1942 near Pardubice, where he was shot by Czech police constable Půlpán. The Burdych family was executed together with other members of Silver A in Pardubice on 9th of July.
There is also the name František Jiroušek engraved in the memorial. I didnt find any information about him and the text on his memorial is unreadable.
The sign situated at the crossroad has incorrect date of the incident.
