Le lieu-dit « Le Recoin », au milieu du marais, sur la
commune de Loroux-
Bottereau est une légère butte qui reste sèche même en
hiver.
The place called "The
Recoin" in the middle of the marsh in the town of
Loroux-Bottereau is a slight hump that remains dry even in
winter.
Lors de l’hiver 1793-1794,
elle a constitué un refuge pour les populations
pourchassées par les «colonnes infernales» du général
Cordelier.
During the winter of
1793-1794, it was a refuge for people persecuted by
the "infernal columns" of General Cordelier.
La croix rappelle les troubles révolutionnaires et les
guerres de Vendée.
The cross

inscriptions.
