The building of the celtic village Gabreta was initiated in 1997. In the forerun there were efforts by the community of Ringelai to support tourism in this area and the collector's activity of one farmer and hobby-archaeologist, Paul Freund, in whose collection there were also celtic sherds.
The village is continually extended by the addition of buildings and other facilities and especially at celtic festive days fascinating events are taking place. In summer and on reservation there is also the possibility to try out pottery, weaving, archery, forging, grinding grain or bread baking and you have the chance to witness the brewing of a magic potion. Please see the webpages http://www.gabreta.bfz.de for exact opening hours, dates and possibilities (sorry, only in German!).
The cache is a 22 x 16 x 10 cm lock&lock box and is closely related to our cache at the archaeopark Netolice, Czech Republic (GC1HKN0).
For finding the cache it is not necessary to enter the park, but we definitely recommend it! Afterwards (or beforehand) you can strengthen yourself in the park's restaurant. Below you can see the view into the park from the cache.
With regard to the historic atmosphere of this place we ask you not to use plastic things as trade (except Tbs and GCs). Apart from that we would be very delighted by pictures of you baking, weaving, milling, shooting ...in the log!
