Geocache Description:

Smiley Guy is a computer game I wrote in the early 1990s. The cache contains a letterbox stamp of a graphic from the game. Use the ink pad to collect a imprint. If you have a stamp of your own, leave an imprint.

The game used 256 text characters for graphics. Character 0 was a rectangular happy face, the game's hero, and the reason for the name of Smiley Guy. While primitive by today's standards, the game and its sequel, Toxic Terminator, survive today at Web sites dedicated to the ZZT game engine.

Located in Detweiller Park. The shortest access is from the road. A longer but smoother approach (just a bit smoother) can be made by taking nearby Oak Trail. Placed with permission from the Peoria Park District.
