La butte aux canons (canon mound) is one of the two highest locations of Bois de Vincennes (Paris' eastern park) at 71m above see level. The place is visited by strollers who enjoy the sight of Château de Vincennes (1.5km away), and since its access path is very steep it also attracts intrepid runners and kamikaze mountain bikers.
To find the cache I suggest you first reach the top of La butte aux canons at N48°49.662 E2°26.144 and then go down to the cache (with some jumps). Its easier by that way in order to avoid the barrier.
Warning, do not cross the barrier, go through the way to the hill !
La butte aux canons est l'un des deux points les plus haut du bois de Vincennes, à 71m au dessus du niveau de la mer. L'endroit offre une vue panoramique sur Vincennes et son château, 1,5km au nord. Cependant, cette belle vue se mérite, et il vous faudra gravir un chemin très pentu pour y arriver.
Avant de chercher la cache je vous suggère d'aller au summet de la butte aux canons en N48°49.662 E2°26.144 pour admirer la vue. De ce point la cache peut être atteinte en descendant (en enjambant quelques obstacles). C'est le chemin le plus simple pour éviter la barrière.
Attention, ne pas franchir la barrière, faire le tour par le chemin vers la butte !
