Geocache Description:

Portuguese: A doca dos pescadores, assim chamada pelas gentes de Setúbal, ainda mantém o seu carisma de outros tempos. Neste local ainda é possível assistir à partida e à chegada dos barcos de pesca com as gaivotas no seu rasto. Todo este espaço está a sofrer alterações, paisagísticas e urbanas integradas no Programa Polis. Têm sido feitos arruamentos, muros, espaços verdes e pouco deve faltar para a conclusão da obra. O projecto Setúbal XXI, engloba um grande projecto de reestruturação para a zona da doca, assim como para a sua linha de costa, com o objectivo de devolver a zona à cidade e às suas gentes. Além do passeio ao longo de toda a linha de costa foi criado um pequeno jardim junto à Doca dos pescadores no qual se encontra o “Monumento de Homenagem aos Pescadores de Setúbal”. Estava na altura de Setúbal homenagear o mar e os pescadores pois a eles, muito deve. A cache encontra-se junto ao monumento. Pede-se muita descrição, no local, pois aos fins de semana o local é bastante frequentado.

English: The fishermen´s dock, so called by the people of Setúbal , still keeps the charisma of other times. In this place it is still possible to assist to the departure and to the arrival of the fishing boats with the seagulls in its track. All this space is suffering landscape and urban changes integrated in the "Programa Polis". Several streets, walls and green spaces have been created.and the conclusion of these works is near to the end. The "Projecto Setúbal XXI", involves a great project of reorganization of the zone of the dock, as well as of its coast-line, with the objective of giving back the zone to the city and its people. Beyond the stroll throughout all the shoreline, it was created a small garden next to the Fishermen´s Dock in which we can find the “Monument of Homage to the Fisherman of Setúbal”. It was already time for Setúbal to homage the sea and the fishermen. The cache is placed in the monument. Use your discretion,especially at the weekends as there are usually a lot of people there.
