Geocache Description:

This cache is located near the front entrance of the historic site known as Fort Meigs.

Fort Meigs was a battlefield during the War of 1812. The fort was established on the south side of the Maumee River by General William Henry Harrison in early 1813. Fort Meigs protected Northwest Ohio and Indiana from British invasion. In May 1815, the United States abandoned Fort Meigs and shortly after the fort burned to the ground. The fort was reconstructed by the Ohio Historical Society and opened in 1974. Today it serves as a popular local historical site, with tours, a museum, ghost walks and a popular viewing site for the 4th of July fireworks. We hope you enjoy this cache & we're very excited to bring one back to this location. Placed with permission from the local site director.

You are searching for a regular size lock & lock. Available during daylight hours only! The container is stocked with some goodies relating to the fort that the staff was kind enough to provide us with. FTF prize is your pick of one of those items or an unactivated travel bug!

Congrats to OnD'Hunt for another successful FTF!
