Geocache Description:

There are many conspiracy theories, lies and false leads surrounding all manner of topics. The internet is full of them but here are some of the more well known theories which will help you identify the location of the cache. The published coordinates are for suitable parking.

  • A   Moon Landing

William Charles Kaysing was a writer best known for claiming that the six Apollo moon landings between July 1969 and December 1972 were hoaxes. The main theories are based on the photographic evidence which do appear to show many anomalies.

  •  B   JFK

One of the best known conspiracy theories surround the assassination of John F. Kennedy in 1963. Central to this theory is the claim that the injuries received by Kennedy and Governor John Connally could not have been caused by the lone gunman, Lee Harvey Oswald, behind the motorcade and to the right.

  •  C    New World Order

The New World Order is said to control supranational and global organisations such as the European Union, United Nations, World Bank, International Monetary Fund and the proposed North American Union. The term gained popularity following its use by President George H. W. Bush when he referred to his "dream of a New World Order" in a speech to the United States Congress on September 11, 1990.

  • D    Philadelphia Experiment

The Philadelphia Experiment was an alleged naval military experiment at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard in Pennsylvania sometime around October 28th 1944. The U.S. destroyer escort USS Eldridge was supposedly rendered invisible (i.e. cloaked) to human observers for a brief period.

  • E    Elvis

There is a belief in some quarters that Presley did not die in 1977 but that he is still alive and went into hiding for various reasons. This claim is allegedly backed up by thousands of so-called Elvis sightings that have occurred in the years since his death. Critics of the notion state that a number of Presley impersonators can easily be mistaken for Presley and that the urban legend is merely the result of fans not wanting to accept his death.

  •   F    Roswell

In 1947, the United States Air Force issued a press release stating that a "flying disk" had been recovered near Roswell, New Mexico. This press release was quickly withdrawn, and officials stated that a weather balloon had been misidentified. The Roswell case quickly faded even from the attention of most UFOlogists until the 1970s when the conspiracy theories started to appear. In 1990 a book was published which had many eye witness accounts and irrefutable evidence that aliens did in fact crash land almost 50 years previous.
