Bislingflaka is also referred to as the Roof of Nordmarka. It offers an almost mountanlike scenery, although the height above sea level is not more than 650-680 meters.
For many years it has been a natural starting point for the classical Nordmarka north-south skiing excursion, but at the time of writing (March 2009) the driving access to Bislingen are reported to be difficult.
Bislingen Fjellstue, built in 1967, offered lodging and cafeteria services to visitors. However, the premises was sold in 2008, and is now closed.
