A bit of history: The jetty project construction was first begin in 1893. Work was finished in 1917 with the South Jetty reaching 3,945' long. In 1985 the South Jetty was extended another 2,300' to the length it is today.
You may see people surfing in the Siuslaw River along the South Jetty, if conditions are right.
This is a high muggle area, so be careful when finding and returning the cache. There is a parking fee for this area. Have fun!
