2009 Indiana Fall Picnic

The weekend will begin with a Friday evening Meet and Greet (GC1NK6H) sponsored by InKy & IndiGo. Join the crew in kicking off the weekend. Grab a hot dog and some homemade chili. Don’t forget your flashlights for the Night Cache.

Saturday’s Fall Picnic will be a day of fun, socializing and events. The day’s activities are:

REGISTRATION: To register for the picnic, go to www.indigo-geo.com and click on the registration button. Don't forget to order your T-Shirt and pathtags. Purchase of this merchanidise helps fund the picnic.

FRIDAY NIGHT MEET & GREET: InKy is sponsoring a chili dump. Check out the Meet & Greet event page or the picnic website Indigo-geo.com

PITCH-IN LUNCH: Once again everyone is asked to bring a contribution for the pitch-in lunch. A pitch-in only works if everyone who eats at the buffet has contributed. Contributions will be exchanged for meal tickets. If you do not contribute to the meal, you will not be given a meal ticket and you may want to consider bringing a sack lunch for yourself.

If your last name begins with A-R, please bring a family size homemade side dish. Last names that begin with S-Z, please bring a family size dessert. Grills will be provided for your use; however, each attendee is responsible for their own meat and drink. Pitch-in contribution will be exchanged for meal tickets.

DONATIONS, PRIZES & RAFFLES: Everyone is asked to bring a donation for the prize table. Eighteen and older will be considered an adult for the prizes.

So CHILDREN aren't left out, anyone with children is be asked to bring an AGE APPROPRIATE donation for their children. These will go in gift bins for the younger cachers.

KID’S SPACE: Weather permitting, an activity area for the little cachers to play will be available. This area will be unsupervised so parents should accompany their child while visiting the area.

MERCHANDISE: The sale of merchandise displaying the picnic logo help defray the cost of the picnic. Order your event t-shirts and pathtags when you register on the picnic website Indigo-geo.com

GEO-CHALLENGE (Ages 12-17): Teens, are you ready for a challenge? To participate in this year’s youth activity indicate your participation on the registration or email daggy@insightbb.com. Include your name, age and gender. Registration deadline is September 1st. Space is limited. If sign-up exceeds space, a drawing will be held to determine participants.

GEO-SURVIVOR (Ages 18+): GeoSurvivor has always been the Fall Picnic’s premier event. A drawing will be held to determine participants and will be announced at the picnic kick-off on September 12th at 10:00 a.m. All participants MUST be at the picnic kick-off. Add your name in the drawing to participate in Geo-Survivor on your registration form or email deermark@insightbb.com. Registration deadline is September 1st.

LODGING: There are several types of lodging available in the area. Local hotels are available in the nearby town of Spencer. McCormick’s Creek has cabins, camping and rooms available at the Canyon Inn. To camp near the geocaching group and the comfort station book a campsite near sites 85-90. Reservations can be made at the Campground Reservation Call Center at 1-866-6CAMP-IN (1-866-622-6746) or On-Line Reservations.

Please remember we are guest of the park for the weekend. Park management has asked that while caching in the park to please cache in small groups. To protect the environment around the cache, please allow only one or two people leave the trail to search for the cache and sign the log for the group.
