On the west side of Burlingame Road just south of where it
crosses over I-470 on the south edge of Topeka, Kansas is the
Foster Cemetery. Originally, this was a family cemetery located on
private land owned by Robert G. Foster. A deed set a one acre tract
apart by deed in 1867 strictly for burial purposes. Birth dates
recorded on the tombstones date from 1792.The earliest burial found
was 1866. There may have been earlier burials for which no
tombstones were located.
The cemetery does have a No Trespassing sign on one side of a
fence, but then again I’ve done a cache in a cemetery with No
Trespassing signs in it and was told by the two sheriffs parked in
it, don’t worry about it. So time will tell how long this cache
will stay..
