[LV] 1925. gada 22. augusta uz lauku cela netalu no bij. Brizules muižas gaja boja viens no spejigakajiem pirmskara Latvijas politikiem, diplomatiem, brivibas cinitajiem – Zigfrids Anna Meierovics.
Ja butu sekmejusies ši izcila valsts darbinieka veicinata Ziemelaustrumeiropas - Baltijas valstu sadarbiba, pašas Latvijas politiku saskana, iespejams, musu valsts vesture vareja veidoties krietni labaka. Diemžel Z.A. Meierovica dzive beidzas jau 38 gadu vecuma.

Ministrs tikko atgriezies no darba vizites arzemes kopa ar savu šoferi devas no Rigas pie saviem berniem uz Tukuma raj., Semes pag., Drukiem. Brauciens no Jurmalas turpinajas pa šoferim mazak zinamu zemescelu, kas posma pie Brizules muižas bija tikko ka izremontets un uzberts apmeram 2 m augstuma. Kad lidz Drukiem bija atlikuši vairs tikai 4 kilometri, cieminš satika sagaiditajus – Meierovica bij. Dzivesbiedri Annu un bernus – 11 gadigo Helmutu, 8 gadigo Rutu un 5 gadigo Gunaru, ka ari maju saimnieku delu Verneru. Visi priecigi sakapa automašina un nu celu uz Drukiem turpinaja kopa.
Ka 74 gadus pec tragiska notikuma atcerejas Gunars Meierovics, kurš bija laimigs ierikojies aizmugureja sedekli tevam klepi, tad braucot leja no kalna, Z.Meierovics šoferi apsaucis: „Lenak, lenak!”. Automobila atrums taja mirkli nav bijis lielaks par 10-15 km/h. Tacu tas izradijas pietiekami, lai, apbraucot izdangatu bedri, auto ar priekšejo riteni bistami pietuvotos jaunuzbertajai, 6 pedas augstajai cela apmalei, noslidetu leja un apgaztos. Seši no septiniem automašina sedošiem cilvekiem katastrofa nopietnus savainojumus neguva. Tacu septitais – Zigfrids Meierovics palika gulot zem automobila. Ar domkratu atspiežot apgazto automašinu, šoferim izdevas izvilkt ministru ara, tomer vinš bija sanemis specigu triecienu un guleja bals – bez dzivibas zimem. Vecaka dela Helmuta saukti, no Brizules muižas atsteidzas paligi ar zirgiem un balkiem. Ar vinu palidzibu izdevas automašinu nostadit uz riteniem atpakal uz cela. Mercedes, kaut ar ielauztu stures ratu un izsistu priekšejo stiklu, tomer bija braucams. Cerot, ka varbut ir iespejams vel ko glabt, Z.Meierovics tika noguldits uz automašinas aizmugureja sedekla un aizvests uz Tukuma slimnicu. Diemžel arsti konstateja jau neatgriezenisku sirdsdarbibas apstašanos. Riga veikta papildu izmeklešana atklaja, ka sakara ar galvaskausa un kakla skriemelu luzumu valsts viram nave iestajusies jau katastrofas vieta.
1927. gada katastrofas vieta pie Brizules Karlis Ulmanis atklaja pieminas zimi, ko 1989. gada vietejie Brizulieši un Meierovicu gimene kopigiem spekiem atjaunoja.

[ENG] On 22th of August 1925 on the rural road near the former Brizule Manor died one of the pre-war strongest politicians of Latvia, diplomat and freedom fighter – Zigfrids Anna Meierovics.
Probably our state could grow and develop much better, if Latvian politicians had more consensus and more successful would be by this excellent state employee promoted cooperation between North-east-Europe and Baltic States.
Unfortunately Z.A.Meierovics ended his life in age of 38 years.
How did it happen?
The Minister, who has just returned from abroad visits, and his driver went from the city to his children in the Tukuma district, Semes parish, house Druki.
The tour lasted from Jurmala by the driver less known road – next to the Brizule manor it was fresh made and 2m embanked. 4km from Druki visitor met welcomers – his ex wife, 11 years old Helmut, 8 years old Ruta and 5 years old Gunars as well as Verners - son of house owner. They all happy jumped in to the car and continued the road home together.
As 74 years after the tragic event remembered Gunars Meierovics, who was happy sitting in fathers lap in back seat, driving down the hill Z. Meierovics called to driver „Slower, slower!”. Car speed at that moment was not more than 10-15km/h. But speed was fast enough to drive with a front wheel too close to the newly made, 6 m high embanked road side while driving around the hole, to slide down and fall over. Six of seven people had no serious injuries. But the seventh, Zigfrids Anna Meierovics, remained lying beneath the car.
The driver managed to pull minister him from beneath the car, but he had received a strong bang and looked really pallid – without any signs of life.
The oldest son Helmut called for help from Birzules manor and they all together lifted up the car on wheels and managed to put the car on the road. Mercedes had broken steering wheel and windscreen, but still it was moving. Z.Meierovics was placed on the back seat and with hope that he can still be saved, taken to Tukuma hospital. Unfortunately, doctors have certified an irreversible cardiac arrest.
Further investigations in Riga revealed that because of the skull and neck fractures death was instantaneous.
In 1927 next to the accident place in Birzule Karlis Ulmanis opened the commemorative plate. In 1989 with help of locals and Meierovics family this plate was restored.
Cache is located not far from this memorial plate. Don't search in memorial plate area. You need cross the major road and look for small stump. Attention! In winter time it's possible the stump covered with snow.
