Cette cache vous propose de découvrir Saint Pierre-d'Entremont et
ses alentours. Il est possible d'effectuer les recherches
intégralement à pied à partir de Saint Pierre-d'Entremont ou bien
de se rendre en voiture à chaque destination. Prévoir de bonnes
chaussures pour la dernière partie.
Rendez-vous à Saint Pierre-d'Entremont
:
Rendez-vous au coordonnées principales, cad à Saint
Pierre-d'Entremont.
Si vous traversez le village vous aurez une impression de déjà vu,
et pour cause puisqu'il existe deux villages en réalité
: Saint Pierre-d'Entremont (Savoie) et Saint
Pierre-d'Entremont (Isère)...
Pour vous en rendre compte, je vous propose d'aller voir le devant
des deux églises, vous repèrerez à l'occasion les deux premiers
indices, à savoir les dates au-dessus de chaque entrée.
Pour la Savoie, vous trouverez ABCD, et pour l'Isère EFGH.
Bizarre... Sachez que cela ne s'arrête pas là, il y a aussi deux
mairie, donc deux maires, ... ...
Pourquoi y'a t'il deux villages au lieu d'un, c'est ce que nous
allons découvrir. Vous vous en doutez nous allons maintenant
plonger dans l'histoire de la région. Il faut savoir que cet
endroit était contrôlé par les seigneurs de Montbel, peut-être
apprendrons nous quelque chose dans leur château, pour cela
rendez-vous au premier waypoint "Château de Montbel".
Château de Montbel :
Passez l'entrée du château et lisez les quelques notes que les
historiens ont laissées. Oh oh de bien funestes nouvelles vous y
attendent. Il y aurait donc un autre château !! La date de sa perte
vous donne l'indice suivant IJKL, c'est à partir de cet événement
que la frontière de la Savoie est repoussée jusqu'au Guiers-Vif.
Notez le nom de la localité où se situe l'autre château. Puis
avancez plus loin à l'intérieur du château et allez au belvédère.
Là, repérez le numéro associé à la localité de l'ancien château,
vous obtenez un nouvel indice MN. Vous pouvez désormais vous rendre
sur les lieux où s'est joué la séparation du village de Saint
Pierre-d'Entremont.
Château de Montbel ;) :
Les coordonnées vous mènent à l'entrée du château (attention le
chemin vous y menant est parfois très vague), aujourd'hui très
abandonné. D'ici rendez-vous auprès des restes du donjon (l'édifice
le plus haut encore debout, il se situe sur le bord est de
l'enceinte), repérez le nombre d'ouvertures que l'on peut encore
voir sur ce bout de tour (fenêtre, meurtrière). Et hop, un nouvel
indice P.
Puis aller voir le mur nord qui est encore bien conservé, vous
verrez de nombreux trous de boulin, notez leur profondeur. Voilà le
dernier indice QXX en cm.
Vous pouvez désormais vous rendre aux coordonnées finales.

This geocache will make you discover Saint Pierre-d’Entremont
and its surroundings. You may be able to seek the waypoints by foot
(or car) from Saint Pierre-d’Entremont. Anyway take good
walking shoes for the finale.
Rendez-vous à Saint Pierre-d'Entremont
:
Go to the main coordinates, in the core Saint
Pierre-d’Entremont.
If you cross the town, you may experience a feeling of deja-vu,
since there’re actually two towns here : Saint
Pierre-d’Entremont (in Savoie) and Saint
Pierre-d’Entremont (in Isère)...
In order to make you realize that, I invite you to go and seek the
dates above the two churches. The two of these make the first two
hints : for the Savoie’s church, the date is ABCD, and for
the Isère’s one, it’s EFGH.
Weird... But this is not all, there are two town halls, thus two
mayors...
Why is there two towns instead of one ? This is what we’ll
find out. As you may have understood, we’re about to go deep
into the history of the area. Given that this place was once ruled
over by the so-called “Lords of Montbel”, perhaps will
we find something in their castle. So let’s go to the next
waypoint : “Chateau de Montbel”.
Castle of Montbel (Château de Montbel)
:
Get inside the castle and read the notes some historians have left
here (unfortunatelly in french). Um, some dark news are here : So
there may be another castle!! The date of its loss (first shown on
the board) will give you the next hint : IJKL. This is after this
event that the Savoy border was pushed inside the lands, until the
“Guiers-Vif” river. Note as well the name of the
village where the other castle is waiting for you (something like
“L** *”). Then go further insidde the castle until you
reach the view point, with a stone information board. On it, find
the number associated to the town where the other castle is
located. You get another hint : MN. You can then go to the place
where was played the act that divided Saint Pierre-d'Entremont in
half (waypoint “Chateau de Montbel ;)”)
Castle of Montbel ;) (Château de Montbel ;) )
:
Coordinates bring you at the entrance of the castle, now quite
forsaken (beware : the path to the castle might be hard to
find). From here, go to the ruins of the dungeon tower (this is the
highest building still standing up, in the east part of the area),
and find out the number of gaps (windows, ...) that you can still
see on this piece of call. This is another hint : P.
Then, go to the north wall, that is still in good shape, and
retrieve the depth in cm of the numerous holes in it. This is the
final hint : QXX in centimeters.
You eventually can reach the final cache!
